Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings and additional requirements for marine carbon steel and carbon-manganese steel castings. This standard applies to the manufacture and acceptance of steel castings for hull structures and mechanical structures with operating temperatures not exceeding 400°C. This standard does not apply to crankshaft steel castings.
