Introduction

Core changes in the standard revision

Technical dimensions DL/T 437-2012 DL/T 437-2024
Electrode type Mainly traditional horizontal ring type Five new types including vertical/deep well/marine grounding electrodes
Overflow density limit Unspecified water area index Specified seawater grounding electrode ≤50A/m² (with fence)
Pipeline corrosion assessment Polarization potential shift method Annual average corrosion rate ≤0.01mm/a

Analysis of key technical indicators

Dynamic limit of ground resistance

The new standard distinguishes between long-term and short-term operation modes:

  • Long-term operation (>thermal time constant): must meet the thermal stability condition of formula (1)
  • Short-term operation can be replaced by temperature rise/potential difference verification

Engineering application example

A ±800kV project uses deep well grounding electrodes. The soil model is corrected through injection test, which reduces the ground resistance calculation error from 12% to 3%.

Key points of design implementation

New electrode layout plan

  1. Marine grounding electrode: Priority will be given to projects within 3km of the coastline
  2. Compact grounding electrode: Current sharing resistor is required
  3. Vertical electrode: Exhaust device is required when the burial depth is >100m

Operation and maintenance management requirements

Periodic Inspection items New technical requirements
10 years Corrosion inspection of feeding elements New ampere-hour evaluation method
Real time Online monitoring Must comply with DL/T 2026 specifications
