本标准规定了330kV及500kV交流架空送电线路绝缘子串上各片绝缘子在正常运行电压下承受到的分布电压参考值（有效值，下同）。本标准运用于各地区、各种环境温度和海拔高度、各种塔型、各种型号的瓷质或钢化玻璃悬垂绝缘子边相单串，其与导线的连接金具为下垂式。中相和耐张绝缘子单、双串可参照执行。但绝缘子串的件需全部属于同一型号和同一材质的绝缘于，其表面应干燥且无严重污秽。本标准不适用于发生电晕放电时的绝缘子串，也不适用于由不同型号绝缘子组成的混合型绝缘子串。
