Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for the qualification assessment of personnel engaged in non-destructive testing (NDT) in the process of equipment manufacturing, installation, maintenance, inspection and testing in the power industry. This standard is applicable to the use of six non-destructive testing methods for electrical equipment using radiographic testing (RT), ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), penetrant testing (PT), electromagnetic testing (EMT), and vibroacoustic testing (VA). Testing personnel include process formulation, specific testing, technical report approval and training of testing personnel. The qualification assessment of personnel for other non-destructive testing methods can be carried out with reference to this standard.
