Introduction
Analysis of the core content of the standard
This standard applies to composite sheathed metal oxide arresters for AC overhead transmission and distribution lines above 1kV, with a focus on regulating two types of structures:
| Type | Structural characteristics | Key parameters | Typical applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-gap arresters (NGLA) | Directly parallel line insulators | Continuous operating voltage ≤43.2kV (35kV system) | Important lines of 110kV and above |
| Electronic gap arresters (EGLA) | Including external series air gap | Lightning impulse residual voltage ≤280kV (110kV system) | Multiple lightning areas, high-altitude lines |
Major technical upgrades of the 2021 version
Compared with the 2012 version of the standard, this revision highlights the following innovations:
- Voltage level expansion: New 750kV/1000kV lightning arrester technical parameters, residual voltage requirements ≤1490kV/2150kV respectively
- Test method optimization: Cancel the 2kA square wave impulse requirement, and add a repeated transfer charge test (see the table below for typical values)
- Stability enhancement: New long-term stability and heat dissipation characteristics tests for gapless lightning arresters
Key Performance Indicators Comparison
Electrical Parameter Requirements
- Residual voltage characteristics: Residual voltage ≤310kV at nominal discharge current (10kA) of 110kV gapless arrester
- Reference voltage: DC 1mA reference voltage needs to be ≥130kV (110kV system with gap arrester body)
- Partial discharge: ≤10pC at 1.05 times continuous operating voltage
Mechanical performance requirements
| Test items | Gapless arrester | Gap arrester |
|---|---|---|
| Rated tensile load | ≥15 times its own weight | Exempt for bracket installation |
| Vibration test | Not required | Needed for 500kV and above |
Implementation suggestions
Selection guide
- In areas with frequent lightning, it is advisable to use gap arresters with supports, and the gap distance tolerance must be controlled within ±5%
- For lines of 750kV and above, products with a nominal discharge current of more than 20kA should be selected
Operation and maintenance points
| Type | Detection cycle | Key items |
|---|---|---|
| Non-gap type | Before the thunderstorm season every year | DC 1mA voltage change rate ≤5% |
| Gap type | Every 2 years | Gap distance inspection, counter record |
Note: 1000kV arrester should additionally check the steep wave withstand performance of the support (± polarity 5 times 1000kV/μs impact)
