Scope

This section provides a common request/response-oriented data access mechanism that applications from various independent vendors can use in conjunction with DL/T 890.402 to access common information model (CIM) data. It is recommended that applications use this general data access (GDA) service during the initialization process or occasional information synchronization phase. GDA's versatility is reflected in the fact that any application can use it to access any CIM data, and it can also provide a back-end storage mechanism independent of query capabilities, which helps create a CIM data warehouse. This section provides a concise service (GDA service) that meets the functional requirements of current and future applications and can: a) avoid unnecessary complexity; b) does not require any specific database technology for implementation. The GDA Service supports data requests and interactions between applications or systems developed, provided, maintained or operated by independent organizations that interact with applications providing data, and updates to this Service assume that one system does not wish to write directly to another system. To support these goals, GDA functionality is divided into the following three categories: a) read access; b) update access; c) change notification events. It must be noted that the updated part of the GDA service does not support unconditional access to important real-time data. Specifically, the update component allows the application to request changes to data in the service provider, but the service provider is not obligated to perform this change at a specific time. Furthermore, a positive reply from the update service does not mean that the update has occurred, but only that the service provider has successfully received the update request and that the syntax and semantics of the request were correct. Under the assumption of using CIM, GDA can be classified as an enterprise information integration (EII) technology adapter specifically applied to the power industry. City now
