Introduction
Key points of the standard update
| Technical dimensions | 2006 edition | 2022 edition |
|---|---|---|
| Scope of application | Metal components (including welded joints) | Extended to all categories of metal materials |
| Instrument requirements | Only spark direct reading spectrometer is specified | New technical parameters of handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer |
| Safety specifications | Basic electrical safety | Radiation protection (GB 18871) is added |
Key instrument technical specifications
Spark direct reading spectrometer detection matrix is extended to nickel-based alloy (GB/T 38939), the wavelength range requirement is increased to 120-800nm, and the number of grating lines is not less than 2400 lines/mm.
Handheld X-ray fluorescence spectrometer must comply with JB/T 12962.1 standard, and the detection limit requirement for special elements such as titanium and vanadium is ≤0.05%.
Application Cases
In the identification of boiler tubes in a power plant, the SPECTROTEST spectrometer was used to detect abnormal molybdenum content in 12Cr1MoVG material (measured 0.18% vs standard 0.25-0.35%), avoiding a potential tube explosion accident.
Standard Evolution Background
With the construction of ultra-supercritical units (DL/T 715) and UHV power grids, the demand for testing new materials such as P92 steel and 800H alloy has driven the upgrade of standards. The newly added Appendix C of the 2022 version standardizes the on-site X-ray fluorescence detection process to solve the timeliness problem of traditional laboratory analysis.
Implementation Suggestions
- The laboratory should be equipped with at least 2 senior spectral analysts who have passed DL/T 931 certification
- For work in humid environments, the OXFORD X-MET8000 series equipment with IP54 protection level should be used preferentially
- When retesting materials, the original spectrum and standard sample data should be retained simultaneously
