Scope

This standard specifies the environmental conditions, test methods and inspection rules for gravimeter testing. This standard applies to environmental testing of geodetic gravity measurements and ground gravimeters for geological exploration. It is the environmental basis that must be followed by the design, production, comprehensive or quantitative inspection of such instruments. The purpose is to assess the adaptability of the gravimeter in the use, transportation, handling and storage environment and to comprehensively evaluate product quality.
