Scope

This standard specifies the oxygen index method for testing the flame retardant properties of polyester short fibers (including hollow fibers) and polyester filaments. This standard is applicable to the determination of oxygen index of polyester short fibers (including hollow fibers) and polyester filaments. This standard is only used to measure the combustion performance of materials under laboratory conditions and to control product quality. It cannot be used as a basis for assessing the fire risk under actual use conditions, or can only be used to analyze one of all factors when a fire occurs in a special-purpose material. . This standard is not applicable to the evaluation of materials that exhibit a high shrinkage rate after being heated.
