Introduction

Background of Standard Revision

This revision (2023 version) is based on the actual combat feedback from the implementation of the 2012 version for 10 years, and mainly responds to three technical needs: tactical modularization (adding tactical rails), protection upgrade (adding anti-cut performance), and material durability (coating adhesion test). The standard introduces the normative requirements of tactical rails for the first time, supporting the integrated development trend of modern police equipment.

Core Change Comparison

Technical Indicators 2012 Version Requirements 2023 Version Changes Upgrade Significance
Protection Performance Only Blunt Impact Protection Added 5.20 Cut Protection Performance Deal with Knife-like Threats
Structural Design No Expansion Interface Added 5.14 Tactical Rail Support Equipment Modularity
Material Testing No Coating Requirements Added 5.23 Coating Adhesion Improved Environmental Durability

Analysis of Key Technologies

1. Tactical Rail System (Article 5.14)

The standard specifies that the tactical rail must meet the following mechanical strength requirements: longitudinal load ≥ 50N, lateral torsion ≥ 30N·m, and provides standardized interface dimensions. Tests conducted by a pilot unit show that the overall center of gravity offset of the helmet should be controlled within the range of ±15mm after adding a tactical flashlight.

2. Anti-cut performance test (5.20 items)

The same level test method as GA 614-2006 "Police Anti-cut Gloves" is adopted, requiring that under the conditions of blade cutting speed 100mm/s and pressure 5N, no penetrating damage should occur on the shell surface. Laboratory data show that police riot helmets that meet the requirements can resist continuous attacks from common daggers.

Implementation suggestions

  1. Purchase acceptance: Focus on checking the test reports of newly added items, especially the third-party certification of anti-cut performance
  2. Maintenance: The tactical rail interface needs to be regularly checked for thread wear, and it is recommended to perform a torque test every 6 months
  3. Training points: The adjustment method of the wearing device (Article 5.12) of the new helmet is different from that of the old version, and special training needs to be organized

Application case: Equipment upgrade of a special police team

In the pilot replacement in 2024, the tactical rail of the new helmet was successfully integrated with a 4G law enforcement recorder, and the equipment shedding rate in emergency tasks was reduced from 12% of the old version to 0.8%, and the anti-fog performance of the mask (Article 5.11 improvement) reduced complaints about winter use by 76%.
