GA 426《指纹数据交换格式》分为14个部分，本部分为GA 426的第3部分。
本部分代替GA 426-2003《指纹自动识别系统数据交换文件格式》中的附录C（规范性附录）：第3类逻辑记录 发送十指指纹数据。未被代替的纳入GA 426-2008《指纹数据交换格式》的其他部分。
本部分规定了指纹数据交换文件中十指指纹信息记录的格式。
本部分适用于指纹自动识别系统间的十指指纹信息交换。
本部分与GA 426-2003的附录C（规范性附录）相比有如下格式：
——修订了十指指纹文字信息数据项内容和格式；
——增加了协查管理数据项；
——删除了附录E（规范性附录）ANSI的信息交换编码，分隔符的定义修改为直接引用GB/T 1988-1998。
Scope
This part of GA 426 specifies the format of ten-fingerprint information records in fingerprint data exchange files. This section applies to the exchange of ten-finger fingerprint information between automatic fingerprint identification systems.
