本标准提出了采用在旋转轴上直接测量的方法来测量和评定机械振动的总则。确定轴振动的目的与以下问题有关：a)振动特性的变化；b)过大的动力载荷；c)径向间隙监测。本标准适用于测量转轴绝对和相对的径向振动，但扭转振动和轴向振动除外。它适用于机器的工况监测及在试验台上和安装后的验收试验。
本标准也规定了运行限值的设定。本标准不适用于往复式机器。

Scope

This standard applies to the measurement of absolute and relative radial vibrations of rotating shafts, except for torsional and axial vibrations. It is suitable for condition monitoring of machines and acceptance tests on test benches and after installation. This standard also specifies the setting of operational limits. Evaluation criteria for different types of machines will be included in other parts of this series of standards, while general principles are given in Appendix A. This standard uses the term "shaft vibration" because in most cases the measurements will be made on the machine shaft. However, this standard may also be applied to other rotating components as appropriate and in accordance with this general rule. This standard does not apply to reciprocating machines.
