1. Background and Significance of Standard Revision
GB/T 12905-2019 "Barcode Terminology" is a comprehensive revision based on the original standard GB/T 12905-2000. The revision of this standard is aimed at adapting to the rapid development of barcode technology, especially the widespread application of two-dimensional barcodes (QR codes) in logistics, retail, manufacturing and other fields.
The new standard adds 75 relevant terms, deletes 34 non-common terms, and revise the interpretation of 43 terms to make it more in line with the actual needs of current barcode technology and applications.
