Introduction
In-depth interpretation of GB/T 13258-2016 standard for industrial phosphorus pentasulfide
Analysis of standard formulation background and technological evolution
GB/T 13258-2016 "Industrial phosphorus pentasulfide" standard is revised on the basis of the original standard GB/T 13258-2008, mainly optimizing and improving the performance indicators, test methods and inspection rules of phosphorus pentasulfide. This revision focuses on solving the following problems:
- Unified the English name expressions
- Adjusted the final melting point and mass fraction of sublimation residue of superior grade products
- Optimized the determination method of mass fraction of phosphorus and sulfur
- Introduced the arbitration method-melting point apparatus method, which is used to determine the melting point of phosphorus pentasulfide
- Increased batch requirements and type inspection regulations in the inspection rules
Comparative analysis of main technical indicators
| Item | Superior grade products | First grade products | Qualified products |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phosphorus (P) mass fraction | 27.6~28.2% | ||
| Sulfur (S) mass fraction | 71.7~72.3% | 71.0~72.5% | 70.0~73.0% |
| Final melting point | ≥279℃ | ≥274℃ | ≥273℃ |
Interpretation of key test methods and case analysis
1. Determination of phosphorus mass fraction (arbitration method)
This method decomposes the sample, uses quinoline phosphomolybdic acid precipitate to generate quinoline phosphomolybdic acid precipitate with quinomolybdic acid reagent, and finally weighs and calculates the mass fraction of phosphorus. For example, in the detection of premium products, if the phosphorus content is measured to be 28.1%, it meets the standard requirements.
2. Determination of final melting point and melting distance (arbitration method)
The final melting point and initial melting point of phosphorus pentasulfide are determined by melting point apparatus method, and the melting distance is calculated. For example, in the detection of first-grade products, if the final melting point is measured to be 275℃ and the initial melting point is 273℃, the melting distance is 2℃.
Standard Implementation Recommendations
To ensure the effective implementation of GB/T 13258-2016:
- Manufacturers should establish a complete quality inspection system and be equipped with necessary test equipment (such as melting point apparatus, spectrophotometer, etc.).
- Strengthen staff training, especially the operational standardization of complex test methods (such as the determination of phosphorus mass fraction).
- It is recommended to adopt tabular management to record the key indicators of each batch of products for easy tracking and analysis.
