This standard specifies the types and dimensions, marking, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, packing, storage and transportation of plates.
This standard is applicable to the nameplate, operation sign plate, illustration plate, line schematic diagram plate, design data chart plate, safety sign plate and others (generally referred to as "plates") of the products used for various electromechanical equipments, instruments and apparatuses as well as various elements.
The part of types and dimensions in this standard is not applicable to the panels of instruments, apparatuses and household electrical appliances, the scales of meters, the trademarks and the art decoration plates, however, the technical requirements (see Chapter 5) in this standard may be applied as reference for the above products.
