Introduction
GB/T 13747.5—2019 Standard Interpretation
Standard Background and Significance
GB/T 13747 "Chemical Analysis Methods for Zirconium and Zirconium Alloys" is divided into 27 parts. This part (Part 5) specifically stipulates the method for determining the aluminum content in zirconium and zirconium alloys. The new standard replaces the old version of 1992. The main changes include:
- The measurement range is expanded to $0.0025\% \sim 0.10\%$
- A new reagent is introduced: Chrome Azure S-tetradecylpyridinium chloride solution
- The experimental steps and precision requirements are optimized
Standard Framework Comparison Table
| Item | 1992 Edition | 2019 Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement Range | $0.0025\% \sim 0.035\% | $0.0025\% \sim 0.10\% |
| Reagents | Chrome Azure S Spectrophotometry | Chrome Azure S-Tetradecylpyridinium Chloride Solution |
| Precision Requirements | Tolerance | Precision Terms (Repeatability and Reproducibility) |
Technical Details and Application Cases
Reagent Preparation: The Chrome Azure S-Tetradecylpyridinium Chloride Solution is prepared by weighing 0.3g Chrome Azure S and 2g Tetradecylpyridinium Chloride, dissolving them separately, mixing and diluting to 1000mL. This reagent is used for the color development reaction of aluminum ions.
Experimental Steps: 1. Sample treatment: The sample is dissolved with sulfuric acid and ammonium sulfate.
2. Treatment of interfering elements: The main elements are extracted and separated by N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine trichloromethane solution, and the iron element is masked with o-phenanthroline.
3. Color reaction: In acetic acid-sodium acetate buffer, aluminum reacts with the reagent to develop color, and the absorbance is measured at 630nm.
Implementation suggestions
Staff training: Experimenters should be familiar with the operation of the spectrophotometer and the method of drawing the standard curve.
Equipment calibration: Regularly calibrate the spectrophotometer to ensure the wavelength accuracy and absorbance reading accuracy.
Quality control: It is recommended to use aluminum standard solution to verify the working curve regularly, and record the experimental results for traceability.
