Scope

This standard applies to automatic transfer switching equipment (AT-SE) with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000V AC ¹⁾ or 1500V DC. ATSE is suitable for emergency power supply systems, interrupting the power supply to the load during the transition of the power supply. This section applies to ATSEs with or without enclosures. The control electrical appliances (such as control switches, ...) and protective electrical appliances (such as circuit breakers, ...) necessary for ATSE should meet the requirements of relevant national standards. ATSEs intended for emergency lighting may comply with special regulations and/or statutory requirements and are therefore not included in this part.
