Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T14555-2015 is a national standard for the interface and installation requirements of marine navigation radars, replacing the previous two standards GB/T14555-1993 and GB/T14556-1993. This standard integrates electrical and mechanical installation requirements, and adds interface specifications such as GPS, AIS and VDR.

2. Background of Standardization and Technological Evolution

Version Main changes Scope of application
GB/T14555-1993 Old standard, mainly covering electrical and mechanical installation requirements. Applicable to the basic installation of marine navigation radar.
GB/T14556-1993 Old standard, focusing on interface requirements. Applicable to the interface design of marine navigation radar.
GB/T14555-2015 Integrates and updates two old standards, adds GPS, AIS and VDR interface requirements, and optimizes the installation guide. Applicable to radar design, manufacturing and ship installation.

3. Implementation Recommendations

In actual applications, it is recommended to:

  • Follow the interface specifications in the standard to ensure equipment compatibility.
  • Arrange the radar and antenna in strict accordance with the installation guide to avoid electromagnetic interference.
  • Regularly check the bending radius and shielding performance of the connecting cable to prevent signal attenuation.
