《GB/T 14977-2008热轧钢板表面质量的一般要求》由TC183（全国钢标准化技术委员会）归口，TC183SC6（全国钢标准化技术委员会钢板钢带分会）执行，主管部门为中国钢铁工业协会。
本标准代替GB/T 14977-1994 《热轧钢板表面质量的一般要求》。
本标准规定了热轧钢板表面质量的术语和定义、分类、要求、数值修约。
本标准适用于厚度为3mm~400mm的单张轧制的热轧钢板和由热轧卷剪切而成的剪切钢板。
与原标准对比，主要变化如下：
―――将标准的适用范围扩大为3mm~400mm的钢板；
―――增加了“2 规范性引用文件”一章；
―――增加了“4 分类”一章，把表面质量分为2类，每类又分为3级；
―――增加钢板表面一般要求；
―――对表面不连续的影响面积的测定进行了修改；
―――删除了原标准中4.2.1；
―――A类缺陷增加5.3.2.2.1；
―――对缺陷的修整进行了详细的规定；
―――对焊补做了具体的要求。

1 Scope

This standard specifies terms and definitions, classification, requirements and rounding off of numerical values of surface condition of hot-rolled steel plates.

This standard is applicable to hot-rolled steel plate rolled in single piece and shear plates sheared from hot rolled coil (hereinafter referred to as steel plates), whose thickness is within 3mm~400mm.
