Scope

This document describes the determination of silver content in precious metal alloys by sodium chloride potentiometric titration, potassium iodide potentiometric titration, and fire assay gravimetric method. The sodium chloride potentiometric titration and fire assay gravimetric method in this document are applicable to the determination of silver content in precious metal alloys that do not contain gold, platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, or osmium. The determination range (mass fraction) of the sodium chloride potentiometric titration method is: 3.00% to 99.50%; the determination range (mass fraction) of the fire assay gravimetric method is: 2.00% to 99.50%; the potassium iodide potentiometric titration method is applicable to the determination of silver content in precious metal alloys, and the determination range (mass fraction) is: 3.00% to 99.50%.
