Scope

This standard specifies the methylene blue spectrophotometric method for the determination of sulfide in water. This standard applies to the determination of sulfides in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. When the sample volume is 100ml and a cuvette with an optical path of 1cm is used, the detection limit of the method is 0.005mg/L, and the detection limit is 0.700mg/L. For water samples with high sulfide content, the sampling volume can be appropriately reduced or the samples can be diluted before determination.
