Introduction
1. Standard Overview
GB/T17748-2016 "Aluminum-Plastic Composite Panels for Building Curtain Walls" specifies the terms and definitions, classification, specifications and markings, raw materials, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, etc. of aluminum-plastic composite panels for building curtain walls, and is applicable to the production and application of building curtain wall materials.
2. Background of Standard Formulation
As the construction industry's requirements for safety and environmental performance continue to increase, the new version of the standard has made a number of technical improvements on the basis of the old version, adding the terms and definitions of polymer adhesive films, modifying the combustion performance requirements, and adding new test indicators such as resistance to artificial weathering.
Comparison of Classification and Specifications of Aluminum-Plastic Composite Panels
| Category/Specification | Requirements of 2008 Edition | Updated to 2016 Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Combustion Performance Classification | Flame retardant type (FR) only | High flame retardant type (HFR) added, and new requirements for core material combustion calorific value |
| Coating Performance | Fluorocarbon resin coating as the main coating, no PVDF content requirement | Clearly PVDF resin content is not less than 70%, and new requirements for gloss deviation are added |
| Coating Performance | Fluorocarbon resin coating as the main coating, no PVDF content requirement | Clearly PVDF resin content is not less than 70%, and new requirements for gloss deviation are added |
| Physical and Mechanical Properties | Roller peel strength ≥100N·mm/mm | The average value is increased to ≥110N·mm/mm, and a new temperature difference resistance test is added |
3. Explanation of professional terms and application cases
Polymer Adhesive Film
Polymer Adhesive Film is a bonding material used between the core material and the aluminum material in the production process of aluminum-plastic composite panels. It is co-extruded from functional polymer materials and polyethylene. Its thickness is required to be no less than 0.05mm, and the adhesive content is not less than 60%.
Application Case:In a curtain wall project, the board was found to be debonded. After testing, it was found that the quality of the polymer adhesive film did not meet the requirements. Therefore, the new version of the standard has added Appendix A to specify its technical indicators in detail.
4. Implementation Suggestions
- Manufacturers should be equipped with special test equipment to meet the newly added PVDF content detection and artificial weathering resistance test requirements.
- When selecting aluminum-plastic composite panels, construction units must select products with appropriate combustion performance grades according to building fire protection regulations.
- It is recommended to conduct regular curtain wall maintenance inspections, especially in highly corrosive environments such as coastal areas, and pay attention to the aging of the coating.
