本标准包含内容适用于管子制造厂的检验人员、质量控制人员、油田检验人员、螺纹加工厂工人以及油井管和管线管买方和用户人员使用。


Scope

The content contained in this standard is suitable for inspection personnel of pipe manufacturers, quality control personnel, oilfield inspection personnel, threading factory workers, and buyers and users of oil well pipes and line pipes. The scope of this standard is limited to the inspection of casings, oil pipes and line pipe joints produced in accordance with GB/T 9253.2 and SY/T 6194. However, the basic techniques of gage usage also apply to any thread for which the thread parameter specification is known. This standard is especially prepared to supplement and update the latest editions of SY/T 6194 and GB/T 9711.1, which specify the physical properties and mechanical properties of casing, oil pipe and line pipe. In addition, this standard is required to be used in conjunction with GB/T 9253.2. This standard does not repeatedly list a large number of size tables contained in GB/T 9253.2. Instead, provide a description of the inspection technique that compares the product dimensions to the product's specified dimensional limit deviations. Therefore, this standard, as an introductory document, can be used to inspect thread parameters without directly referring to GB/T 9253.2. But in any case, if there is any dispute between the two parties, the latest version of GB/T 9253.2 shall prevail. This standard uses diagrams to show the correct use of gauges commonly used by thread inspectors. Gauges listed are limited to those suitable for plant and field use, thus excluding less portable instruments such as comparators and profilers. However, it does not restrict inspectors to use such instruments or methods.
