《GB/T 18378-2008防水沥青与防水卷材术语》由TC195（全国轻质与装饰装修建筑材料标准化技术委员会）归口，TC195SC1（全国轻质与装饰装修建筑材料标准化技术委员会建筑防水材料分会）执行，主管部门为中国建筑材料联合会。
本标准于2001年首次发布。本标准参考了ASTM D 1079-2007《屋面与防水术语》，ASTM D8-2002《公路与路面材料术语》、EN 13707：2004《柔性防水卷材―屋面防水用增强沥青卷材―定义和要求》、EN 13956：2005《柔性防水卷材―屋面防水用塑料和橡胶卷材―定义和要求》。
本标准代替GB/T 18378-2001《防水沥青与防水卷材术语》。本标准规定了防水沥青与防水卷材的通用术语及定义。本标准与GB/T 18378-2001的主要区别是：
――本标准删除了“石棉纸油毡、麻布油毡、矿棉纸油毡、带楞油毡、石棉纸、屋面材料”6个词目；
――增加了29个词目；
――对34个词目的释义进行了更动或重新编辑；
――按类别对词序归类重排；
――增加了参考文献（本版的参考文献）；

Scope

This standard specifies the common terms and definitions of waterproof bitumen and waterproof membranes. This standard is applicable to the formulation and revision of standards for building waterproofing, as well as the compilation and translation of normative terms for related technical documents, instructions and books and periodicals.
