Introduction

Interpretation of the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 18749—2019

This standard specifies the shape, size and stacking number, size requirements, physical and chemical performance requirements, chemical composition, test methods, and acceptance contents of chemical corrosion-resistant ceramic tower packing.

Background of standard formulation and analysis of technological evolution

This standard replaces GB/T18749-2008. The main revisions include:

  • Modify the wall thickness deviation requirements: refine the tolerance range according to different specifications (such as DN6~DN25, etc.)
  • Add compressive strength indicators: add specific requirements for interlocking fillers and corrugated fillers
  • Optimize size measurement methods: emphasize the use of high-precision vernier calipers, and clarify the maximum and minimum deviation ranges

Implementation suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended that:

  1. Production units strictly control quality according to dimensional tolerances and performance indicators
  2. When purchasing, explicitly require suppliers to provide test reports that comply with GB/T 18749
  3. Periodically sample and inspect fillers, especially those used in high temperature and high corrosion environments
