Scope

This part of GB/T 18905 provides relevant requirements, suggestions and guidance for supporting organizations responsible for the management of software product evaluation and the required technologies. The tasks of supporting agencies include mobilizing and training staff for evaluation activities, preparing appropriate evaluation documentation and methods, and responding to inquiries about evaluation techniques. The main objectives of evaluation support are software development, system integration and maintenance, including software acquisition at both project and organizational levels. Technology management is concerned with the planning and management of software evaluation processes, metrics, and tools. This includes the management of the development, acquisition, standardization, control, transfer and feedback of experience with evaluation techniques within the organization. This standard is intended for use by personnel of software certification bodies or users responsible for: • managing the use of evaluation techniques; • supporting software product evaluation; • managing software development organizations. However, it also applies to managers engaged in other software-related activities.
