Introduction
GB/T 19068.2—2017 Standard Overview
This standard specifies the test conditions and test methods for small wind turbines (hereinafter referred to as "units"), and is applicable to the testing of small horizontal axis wind turbines for grid-connected or off-grid applications with a rotor swept area of less than $200~\mathrm{m^{2}}$ and a generated voltage lower than $1000\mathrm{~V}$ for AC or $1500\mathrm{~V}$ for DC.
Background of Standardization and Technological Evolution
GB/T 19068.2—2017 is a revision of GB/T 19068.2—2003. The main changes include:
- Expanded the scope of application
- Added requirements for the location of wind towers in the test site
- Added requirements for site calibration and measurement sectors
- Added content of blade static balance and blade tip axial runout tests
- Modified the content of unit power characteristic tests
- Added content of durability tests and vibration tests and evaluations
Test conditions and instrument requirements
The test site should meet the following requirements:
| Parameters | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Annual average wind speed | greater than $5~\mathrm{m/s}$ |
| Maximum wind speed | not less than $20~\mathrm{m/s}$ |
| Location of wind tower | $2D\sim4D$ from the unit, a distance of $2.5D$ is recommended |
The instruments and meters used in the test should be within the validity period of the inspection and approval by the metrology department, and one secondary calibration source (instrument manufacturer or standard laboratory) is allowed to conduct calibration.
Aerodynamic characteristics test
The aerodynamic characteristics test includes the following steps:
- Directional performance measurement
- Unit cut-in wind speed measurement
- Rotor aerodynamic characteristics measurement
- Rotor mechanical output characteristics determination
Among them, the rotor torque $M$ can be calculated by the rotor rotation inertia $J$, the formula is:
Unit performance test
The unit performance test includes the following contents:
- Power characteristics test
- Annual energy production (AEP) calculation
- Power factor measurement
- Safety and function test
- Noise level determination
- Unit durability test
- Unit vibration test and evaluation
Implementation recommendations
Based on the standard content, it is recommended that:
- Strictly select the test site in accordance with the standard requirements to ensure that the wind speed and terrain conditions meet the requirements
- Use high-precision instruments for measurement and calibrate the equipment regularly
- Record all data during the test and perform detailed uncertainty analysis
- For battery packs with different voltage setting values, collect additional characteristic data to quantify their impact
