Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

Version comparison dimensions 2004 version 2018 version
Number of grouped traits 7 8 (newly added seed coat color spot type)
Total number of tested traits 42 44 (3 more traits such as branch angle were added)
Disease resistance detection 6 types of diseases 7 types of diseases (newly added soybean rust)

Key technical implementation points

Trait observation specifications

When observing the density of hairs in the internode in the middle of the main stem, it is necessary to select the fully extended internode; the leaflet shape should refer to the standard diagram (Figure B.1), and the 8th to 10th compound leaves should be used as the observation site.

Specificity determination case

When the tested variety and the similar variety Hefeng 25 show obvious differences in hypocotyl anthocyanin color development (trait 1) (code 1 vs 9), and can be repeatedly verified in two growth cycles, the specificity can be determined to be established.

Analysis of Standard Evolution

Main revisions of the 2018 version:
1. The division of growth stages was refined, and the grain filling stage was subdivided into three observation periods (71/75/77 codes)
2. The resistance classification standard was adjusted, and the differentiation index of light/severe outbreak years was added for the determination of soybean borer (Table B.16)
3. The reference standard of molecular marker-assisted detection was supplemented (GB/T 19557.1-2019)

Implementation suggestions

  1. Field design should ensure that the test variety is planted adjacent to similar varieties, and the number of plants in the plot should be no less than 150
  2. Disease resistance detection should be verified by combining artificial inoculation (spraying method/friction method) and natural disease occurrence
  3. For hybrids, it is recommended to test the stability of the parental lines simultaneously to reduce testing costs
