Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the vibration sensitivity of a machine to unbalance, and specifies that the approximation function of the corresponding resonant speed to the operating speed is used as an evaluation guide. This standard divides machines into groups according to their sensitivity to changes in unbalance. This standard gives advice on how to apply the sensitivity values to practical situations. In Chapter 4, machines are divided into three types according to their sensitivity, and the sensitivity of different types of machines is explained in Chapter 5. This sensitivity value can be used for simple machine systems with preferably only one resonant speed over the entire operating speed range. These sensitivity values can also be used for machines with multiple resonant speeds within the operating speed range, provided that these resonant speeds are far apart from each other (e.g. greater than 20% apart). These recommended sensitivity values are not necessarily intended to be used as acceptance specifications for any machine type, but rather give guidance on how to avoid excessive defects or avoid excessive, difficult-to-achieve requirements. It can also be used as the basis for related studies, for example, where a more precise determination of sensitivity may be required in some specific cases. Satisfactory operation is expected in most cases, given due consideration is given to the sensitivity values provided. Considering only the sensitivity value does not guarantee that the vibration will not exceed the given amplitude value during operation. Many other vibration sources may also cause vibration, but these are not the content of this standard.
