Scope

This standard specifies the determination of the reference ignition point of granular activated carbon in flowing air. The ignition point determined by this standard test method is not the possible ignition point of activated carbon under the operating conditions of the specific application. This standard applies to wood and coal-based granular activated carbon. This standard does not intend to address all possible safety issues associated with the use of activated carbon.
