Innovation in safety requirements
13.6 System Insulation EvaluationThe statistical evaluation method for gas-filled relays is introduced for the first time, requiring the partial discharge limit to be ≤5pC (when the peak voltage is >700V)
Contact Polarity IdentificationThe +/- polarity of DC applications must be marked (Clause 3.5.23)
Special Application Tests
Photovoltaic System Relays
Annex S stipulates that the following must be passed:
- Critical DC load test (4-63A gradient test)
- Insulation verification at an altitude of 2000m
- 50 temperature cycles (-40℃~85℃)
Road Vehicle Relays
Annex T requires:
- Supply voltage instantaneous drop test (Figure T.1)
- 32h random vibration (57.9m/s² RMS)
- 500m/s² mechanical shock
Implementation recommendations
- The contact material selection must meet the failure judgment criteria of 11.3 Severity Level A
- The lead-out terminal design should comply with the mechanical strength requirements of Table P.1
- The destructive discharge voltage U50 of the gas-filled relay should be calculated according to Formula (1)
