Introduction

Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

This revision is the first major update of GB/T 23265 standard since its first release in 2009, which mainly reflects the three development stages of basalt fiber application technology:

Technical stageFeatures of 2009 versionImprovements of 2023 version
Performance indicatorsFocus on basic mechanical propertiesAdded durability indicators such as bending toughness and impact strength ratio
Test methods6 basic tests5 normative appendices added, the test system is more complete
Application classificationSingle function classificationRefined into two categories: crack prevention and crack resistance (BF/BSF) and toughening and reinforcement (BZ)

Analysis of core technical requirements

4.1 Product classification system

The standard establishes a three-dimensional classification matrix:

  1. Fiber morphology: original yarn bundle (S type) and plied yarn (T type)
  2. Application scenarios: concrete (BF/BZ) and mortar (BSF)
  3. Functional positioning: crack prevention and crack resistance and toughening and reinforcement

6.3 Key performance indicators

Typical case: When BZ fibers are used in a bridge project, their tensile strength must be ≥1500MPa, elastic modulus ≥35GPa, and the strength retention rate must still remain above 65% after alkali treatment.

Core Index ComparisonS-type fiberT-type fiber
Mechanical propertiesTensile strength≥1250MPa≥1250MPa
Elastic modulus≥30GPa-
Elongation at break≤5.0%
Alkali resistance≥50%≥65%

Implementation points and engineering suggestions

Principles of material selection

  • Length matching: 12-30mm fiber for concrete, 3-15mm for mortar
  • Diameter control: single filament diameter deviation ≤±10%, twisted yarn acceptance according to the indicated value
  • Dosage optimization: refer to the manufacturer's recommendation, usually 0.5-2kg/m³

Construction quality control

Common problems: Insufficient mixing time caused fiber agglomeration in a subway project, which was later adjusted to the process of dry mixing for 30 seconds + wet mixing for 90 seconds, which significantly improved the dispersion uniformity.

Acceptance inspection process

Test method innovation

The 5 newly added normative appendices in the standard constitute a complete test system:

  1. Appendix A: Tensile test of plied yarn class=instrument>Pattern reinforcement method, solve the problem of short fiber clamping
  2. Appendix E: Using Energy absorption value to evaluate bending toughness, which is more in line with engineering practice
  3. Appendix C/D: 80℃ alkali solution accelerated aging method to simulate long-term durability

Test points: During the alkali resistance test, it is necessary to pay attention to the pH value of the cement clear solution should be ≥12.5, and it needs to be fully rinsed with distilled water after soaking to avoid the influence of residual alkali.
