Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution
GB/T 24328.6-2020, as an important part of the toilet paper testing series of standards, replaces the 2009 version of the standard. The main technical changes include:
- The accuracy of the basket inclination angle is adjusted from 30° to (30±3)°
- New water temperature control requirement (23±1)℃
- Redundant parameters such as stainless steel wire density are deleted
- Data rounding is changed to retain two decimal places

Equipment and material specifications
Cylindrical basket must meet the following requirements:
- 0.5mm diameter corrosion-resistant steel wire
- Total mass(3.0±0.1)g
- Dimensions meet the requirements of Figure 2
The test water should be of the type specified in GB/T 22903 class=instrument>Standard water, water temperature controlled at (23±1)℃.
Laboratory Implementation Recommendations
- Remove the outer 6 layers and inner 6 layers of roll paper during sample processing
- Prepare at least 5 specimens with a width of (76±1)mm for each sample
- Keep the water temperature stable during the test and replace with new water every 5 specimens
- Strictly control the (60±1)s time during the draining stage
