1 Scope

This standard specifies terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of unit coolers for refrigeration (hereinafter referred to as cooler).

This standard is applicable to coolers used in refrigerated room for materials to be chilled, in that for materials to be frozen, and in freezers. It may apply by reference for coolers for other purposes.

This standard is applicable to coolers using R134a, R22, R404A and ammonia refrigerants as media as well as those coolers using water, glycol and other refrigerating media as media. It may apply by reference for coolers using other refrigerants as media.

2 Normative references
