GB/T 25975—2018 Standard Overview
GB/T 25975—2018 Rockwool products for external thermal insulation of building exterior walls is China's latest standard for rockwool products for external thermal insulation systems of exterior walls, replacing the previous GB/T 25975—2010 version. This standard mainly regulates the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for rockwool boards and rockwool strips.
Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution
This revision adds a number of new contents, including:
- Newly added “rock wool strip” term (see 3.1.1)
- Increased density tolerance and test method (see 5.3, 6.3)
- Newly added potassium oxide and sodium oxide content requirements and test methods (see 5.5, 6.7)
- Introduced volume water absorption test requirements (see 5.10, 6.12)
- Reinforced shear strength and shear modulus requirements for rock wool strips (see 5.14, 6.16)

Case Analysis: When choosing to use rock wool strips in a building exterior wall insulation project, special attention should be paid to the following points:
- Ensure that the shear strength and modulus of the rock wool strips meet the requirements of Table 5 (≥20 kPa and ≥1.0 MPa)
- Check whether the tensile strength retention rate under hot and humid conditions meets the 50% requirement
- Choose an appropriate test method, such as GB/T 30804 to measure vertical tensile strength
