Scope
This standard specifies product testing and inspection and marking requirements for position indicating lights for use with various lifesaving appliances, including lights on lifeboats. It is a position indicating light that is specifically applicable to ships that comply with the revised 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), complies with IMO's LSA regulations, and has passed the type approval of the national maritime safety management agency or agency. In addition to complying with IMO requirements, the manufacture of position indicator lights can also consider other basic rules suitable for position indicator lights.
