Scope
This part of GB/T 26499 specifies the content of mechanical science data metadata, including resource collection metadata content and resource object metadata content. This part applies to the cataloging, description, management and sharing of scientific data for the machinery industry. Through the use of metadata standard specifications, users can be provided with data retrieval services, dynamic data directory services, dynamic related resource information services, etc., to achieve data sharing and mechanical science data producers, data managers, and data users and all relevant personnel to provide assistance. The principles of this part can be extended to the formulation and application of metadata standards for scientific data in other fields.
