Introduction

Analysis of the Standard Core Framework

Category GroupingNumber of Data ElementsTypical Data ElementsEncoding Range
Transportation Infrastructure32Highway Route Number (1103)1101-1499
Transportation Equipment28Container Number (2202)2101-2399
Cargo Information56Dangerous Goods Number (3403)3101-3699
Transportation Vehicles34Ship IMO Number (4310)4101-4399

Key Technical Features

Data Element Coding System uses 4-digit hierarchical coding: the first digit indicates the major category (1-9 groups), the second digit identifies the subcategory, and the last two digits are the sequence number. For example, in Container Number 2202: 2 indicates the transport equipment category, 20 indicates the container subcategory, and 02 is the sequence number.

The attribute specification contains 14 metadata attributes, 8 of which are mandatory (M): Chinese name, internal identifier, English name, object class word, characteristic word, representation word, data type, and data format.

Application of Dangerous Goods Data Element

Data ElementCode StandardApplication Scenario
IMDG Classification Number (3412)International Maritime Dangerous Goods CodeDeclaration of Dangerous Goods by Maritime Transport
UN Dangerous Goods Number (3410)United Nations List of Dangerous GoodsCross-border Transport Documents
Closed Cup Flash Point (3420)GB/T21775Warehousing Safety Management

Implementation Suggestions

  1. Priority Implementation Cargo information (3 groups) and other core data elements standardization
  2. The electronic waybill system must be compatible with the date and time format specified in the standard (GB/T7408)
  3. The dangerous goods transport system should fully implement the 3400 series data elements
  4. Work in conjunction with GB/T26767 geographic information data elements

Standard Evolution Analysis

This standard inherits and develops from the GB/T15191 trade data element catalog, and adds:

  • Transport-specific data elements such as container delivery method code (2235)
  • Special fields for water transport such as ship stowage position (4342)
  • Interconnect with international standards such as UN/LOCODE and IMDG rules
