Introduction

Core safety requirements of the standard

This standard specifies the mandatory requirements for industrial control computers in key safety areas such as protection against electric shock, mechanical protection, and fire spread. The safety of the equipment is ensured through dual verification of structural design and type testing.

Note: The duration of transient voltage must meet the requirements of the curve in Figure 1.


Mechanical protection and fire protection design

The shell needs to pass:

  • 30N static force test (8.2.1)
  • 5J steel ball impact test (Figure 4)

The fire protection structure needs to meet the following requirements:

  1. The bottom opening meets the size restrictions in Table 9
  2. Non-metallic materials need to pass V-1 level combustion test
  3. Energy limited circuit design (9.4)

Test process optimization

It is recommended to perform the test sequence according to 4.2:

  • Added quantitative requirements for energy-limited circuits (Tables 10-11)
  • Cleared the corresponding relationship between pollution level and material group (6.7.2)
  • Supplemented pulse withstand voltage test (11.9)
