1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, mark and label as well as packaging, transportation and storage of carpets using in bathroom (including block carpets and mats used in bathroom).

This standard is applicable to quality judgment for machine-made or handmade carpets and mats used in bathroom with/without pile, whose faces are manufactured from raw materials such as chemical fiber, cotton, wool as well as mixed fibers, to which other mats in front of a door, the head of bed and in living room as well as multi-function mat and the like or carpets manufactured from other fibers may also refer.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

mat

small piece of machine-made or handmade carpets (with pile or without pile) of predetermined shape and settled dimension, which are composed of textile fibers with or without backing

Note: There is predetermined shape and settled dimension for both mat and block carpet, which are piece of intact carpet themselves and will be laid on some position of the ground. The mat is mainly laid in bathroom, toilet, living room, in front of door and the head of bed, etc. and has various different functions such as decoration, resistance of soiling and water resistance according to the different using places. There is no specific requirement for the dimension. Block carpets are mainly laid in the center or a certain position of the room, most of which are rich in ornamental patterns and used above carpet.
