《GB/T 28167-2011信息技术 XML元数据交换（XMI）》由TC28（全国信息技术标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。

Scope

This standard provides specifications for: a) a set of production rules for the XML Schema Definition (XSD) that transforms MOF-based meta-models into XML Schemas; b) XML that converts MOF-based metadata into encoded and decoded XML A collection of document production rules; c) XMI-based schema and design principles for XML documents; d) a collection of production rules for importing XML DTD into MOF-based metamodels. This International Standard improves metadata management and metadata interoperability in distributed object environments in general and in distributed development environments in particular. In the area of object analysis and design, this standard describes stream-based metadata interoperability, while XMI (in part because it is based on MOF) finds similar application in many other areas of metadata.
