Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage of diesel engines (hereinafter referred to as diesel engines) used in marine alternator sets. This standard applies to the design, manufacture and acceptance of diesel engines used for main power supply and emergency power supply alternator sets of ships.
