Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

GB/T31049-2022 is the latest national standard for top drive drilling equipment (top drive). Compared with the 2014 version, it mainly adds technical requirements for direct drive top drive, improves the model representation method, and adds parameters for the full range of products from 1500m to 15000m. The standard is applicable to both onshore and offshore drilling environments, and puts forward systematic requirements for core components such as power swivel and pipe handling device.

Design Verification Requirements

The standard stipulates that the main bearing parts must undergo a static load tensile test, and the test load calculation formula is: Pt=0.8×Pmax×ns. The safety factor ns is calculated in sections according to the load range, and is taken as 2.25 when the rated load is greater than 4448kN.

The new material must meet the -20℃ impact absorption energy requirements: when the yield strength is ≥310MPa, the single value is ≥32J, and the average value is ≥42J; when the yield strength is less than 310MPa, the single value is ≥20J, and the average value is ≥27J.


Implementation suggestions

  1. Selection basis: It is recommended to select the corresponding specifications according to the drilling depth. For deep wells above 8000m, the DQ**BS series driven by dual motors is preferred.
  2. Safety protection: Protective devices must be installed on parts prone to falling, and the marine environment must meet the IP55 protection level.
  3. Test verification: Type testing should include frequency domain response testing of soft torque system (sampling period ≤5ms)
  4. File management: The main bearing material must retain complete traceability records, and the preservation period must be ≥10 years.
