《GB/T 31981-2015钛及钛合金化学成分分析取制样方法》由TC243(全国有色金属标准化技术委员会)归口,TC243SC3(全国有色金属标准化技术委员会稀有金属分会)执行,主管部门为中国有色金属工业协会。
本标准规定了钛及钛合金铸造产品(含铸锭和铸件)和加工产品的化学成分分析取样和制样方法。本标准适用于各类钛产品的化学成分分析取制样。

GBT31981-2015 standard specifies the sampling and sample preparation methods for chemical composition analysis of titanium and titanium alloy casting products and processed products, and is applicable to the quality control of various titanium products.

Technical Points

Key requirements for sample preparation include:

  • Sampling location: Determined according to product type, casting products are on the surface of ingots, and processed products are on the surface of finished products
  • Geometric shape: Shavings, blocks and powders must be uniform and free of contamination
  • Sample cleaning: Use solvents such as carbon tetrachloride to avoid touching the sample

Professional term analysis

Scaly: Small linear and flake samples mechanically removed from castings or processed parts, which must be uniform and free of impurities.

Blocky: Larger samples prepared mechanically, the surface should be smooth and burr-free, suitable for spectral analysis and other methods.

Actual application case

Sampling process of a titanium alloy ingot

At Baoti Group Co., Ltd., technicians removed the oxide layer from the casting surface and used a lathe to prepare chip-like samples. The samples were magnetically separated to remove iron and then cleaned with acetone, air-dried and sent for inspection.

Implementation suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard:

  • The laboratory needs to be equipped with professional sample preparation equipment (such as magnetic separators, cleaning tanks, etc.)
  • Operators should receive special training to avoid sample contamination
  • Establish a complete sample delivery record system to ensure traceability
