Introduction
In-depth interpretation of GB/T 32763-2016 Tibetan pig standard
Background and significance of standard formulation
As an important livestock and poultry resource in my country, Tibetan pigs occupy an important position in animal husbandry due to their unique genetic characteristics and ability to adapt to the plateau environment. The formulation of the national standard GB/T 32763-2016 Tibetan pig aims to standardize the variety identification, production performance measurement and breeding pig evaluation of Tibetan pigs, and provide a scientific basis for Tibetan pig seed conservation and industrial development.
This standard is managed by the National Animal Husbandry Standardization Technical Committee, and the main drafting units include China Agricultural University, Tibet Autonomous Region Animal Husbandry General Station, etc., which fully reflects the characteristics of the combination of industry, academia and research.
Comparison of distribution and characteristics of Tibetan pig groups
| Group | Origin altitude | Main distribution area | Typical appearance characteristics |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tibetan pig | 2900m~4100m | Nyingchi, Qamdo and areas east of Nagqu | No wrinkles on the face, small and upright ears, drooping tail |
| Diqing Tibetan pig | 3000m~4000m | Shangri-La, Yunnan and adjacent areas of Sichuan | Face has shallow wrinkles, small flat ears, and a slender tail |
| Sichuan Tibetan Pig | 2800m~3200m | Aba Prefecture and some counties in Ganzi Prefecture | Few facial wrinkles, small upright ears, and drooping tail |
| Hezuo Pig | Above 3000m | Xiahe County, Gannan Prefecture, Gansu Province, etc. | Short body, upright and forward ears, and thick and dense fur |
Tibetan pig production performance and measurement methods
According to the standard, the reproductive performance, growth performance and carcass performance of Tibetan pigs are important indicators for evaluating their quality and value.
| Group | Weight/kg | Reproductive performance | Growth performance | Carcass performance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tibetan pig | Male: 37.4, female: 29.3 | Sexual maturity in May, total litter size 7.5 | Birth weight 0.5kg, weaning weight 2.8kg | Slaughter rate 60.3%, back fat thickness 6.7mm |
| Diqing Tibetan pig | Male: 23.4, female: 33.4 | Sexual maturity at 6.5 months, total litter size 6.9 pigs | Birth weight 0.5kg, weaning weight 2.7kg | Slaughter rate 53.3%, back fat thickness 9.2mm |
Implementation suggestions and future prospects
To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended to:
- Strengthen the selection and breeding of breeding pigs and improve genetic performance
- Improve the detection system and standardize the measurement methods
- Promote regional cooperation and promote variety exchanges
- Combining industrial poverty alleviation and helping rural revitalization
With the evolution of animal husbandry technology, Tibetan pig standardization will develop in the direction of intelligence and dataization, providing strong support for the sustainable development of plateau animal husbandry.
