Introduction

National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 33688—2017

Evaluation Method of Process Effect of Coal Separation Magnetic Separation Equipment

Foreword:This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T1.1-2009, proposed by the China Coal Industry Association, and managed by the National Coal Standardization Technical Committee.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the evaluation indicators and calculation methods for the process effect of coal separation magnetic separation equipment, and is applicable to the evaluation of the process effect of coal separation magnetic separation equipment.

2 Normative references

GB/T 7186 Coal preparation terminology
GB/T 18711 Test method for magnetite powder for coal preparation
MT/T 808 Technical inspection of coal preparation plants

3 Terms and definitions

Terms Definition
Magnetic material recovery rate The mass fraction of magnetic material recovered from the concentrate of the magnetic separation equipment in the feed (%)
Non-magnetic material removal rate The mass fraction of non-magnetic material discharged from the tailings of the magnetic separation equipment in the feed (%)

4 Evaluation method

Main indicators: The magnetic material recovery rate is the main indicator, and the non-magnetic material removal rate is the auxiliary indicator.

4.1 Calculation formula for magnetic material recovery rate

Calculate according to formula (1):
\[ \varepsilon = \frac{\gamma_{\beta} M_{\beta}}{100M_{\alpha}} \times 100 = \frac{M_{\beta}(M_{\alpha}-M_{\theta})}{M_{\alpha}(M_{\beta}-M_{\theta})} \times 100 \quad.. \]

Parameters Definition
\( \varepsilon \) Magnetic material recovery rate (%)
\( \gamma_{\beta} \) Concentrate yield (%), formula: \( \gamma_{\beta} = \frac{M_{\alpha}-M_{\theta}}{M_{\beta}-M_{\theta}} \times 100 \)
\( M_{\alpha} \) Magnetic material content in magnetic separation feed (%)

4.2 Calculation formula for non-magnetic material removal rate

Calculated according to formula (2):
\[ \varepsilon_{0} = 100 - {\frac{\gamma_{\beta}(100-M_{\beta})}{100(100-M_{a})}} \times 100 = 100 - {\frac{(M_{a}-M_{\theta})(100-M_{\beta})}{(M_{\beta}-M_{\theta})(100-M_{a})}} \times 100 \quad.. \]

5 Sample collection and testing

According to MT/T 808 and GB/T18711, samples for the evaluation of the process effect of magnetic separation equipment shall be collected and tested.

Implementation suggestions

Practical application: In a coal preparation plant, the appropriate evaluation method should be selected according to the specific equipment and process conditions. For one-stage magnetic separation equipment, directly use formula (1) and formula (2) for calculation; for two-stage magnetic separation equipment, calculate according to Appendix A.

Test report form: Fill in the process effect test report form with reference to the table format provided in Appendix B to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data.

Actual case

After a coal preparation plant used magnetic separation equipment, it was measured that the magnetic content in the feed was \( M_{\alpha} = 20\% \), the magnetic content in the concentrate was \( M_{\beta} = 15\% \), and the magnetic content in the tailings was \( M_{\theta} = 3\% \). The magnetic material recovery rate is calculated as follows:

\[ \varepsilon = \frac{20 - 3}{15 - 3} \times (20 - 15) \times 100 = 86.2\% \]

At the same time, the non-magnetic material removal rate is:

\[ \varepsilon_{0} = 100 - {\frac{(20-3)(100-15)}{15-3}} \times (20 - 15) \times 100 = 86.7\% \]

The results show that the process effect of the magnetic separation equipment is good.
