In-depth Analysis of Optical Interface Characteristics
Chapter 5 of the standard specifies in detail 11 optical parameter tests for OLT and ONU:
- Average Transmit Power: The burst mode test method is used, and the ONU needs to distinguish between the benchmark method and the alternative method
- Spectral Characteristics: The SLM laser requires a -20dB spectrum width of ≤1nm and a side mode suppression ratio of ≥30dB
- Receiver Sensitivity: The PX20+ model requires a BER of ≤-30dBm when <10-12

Receiver sensitivity test
Using the IETF RFC 2544 standard method, the optical attenuator is adjusted to make the packet loss rate close to 10-9, and the calculation formula is:
BER = 1 - (1 - packet loss rate)1/n (n is the number of bits in the frame length)
Implementation suggestions
- Environmental testing must be performed strictly in the order specified in 10.1
- DBA function verification recommends a three-stage test method: fixed bandwidth → guaranteed bandwidth → best effort
- Electromagnetic compatibility testing must simultaneously meet the requirements of GB9254 and GB/T17618
