1 Scope

The standard specifies basic principle, procedure, determination of assessment object and factor, information collection, hazard identification, risk estimation, risk control measure, re-assessment, risk assessment unit and personnel as well as risk assessment documents of risk assessment for amusement ride.

This standard is applicable to risk assessment for amusement ride.

4 Basic Principles

4.1 Risk is a concept that corresponds to safety. Safety is relative, not absolute. The safety in this standard refers to the state free from unacceptable risk. Safety is realized by reducing the risk to an acceptable level.

4.2 Risk assessment is a series of logical steps to analyze and assess the risks associated with the assessment object in a systematic way. Risk control measures shall be taken to reduce the risk after risk assessment, if necessary. It is necessary to carry out risk assessment again after eliminating hazard or sufficiently reducing risk by taking specific risk control measures.

5 Procedure

The content of risk assessment covers determination of assessment object and factor, information collection, hazard identification, risk estimation and risk control measure, as shown in Figure 1.
