Introduction

Interpretation of GB/T 34393—2017 National Standard of the People's Republic of China

I. Background of Standard Formulation and Analysis of Technical Evolution

With the rapid development of my country's automobile industry, automobile exports have increased year by year. However, in the process of exporting complete vehicles, the degree of standardization of logistics labels varies, resulting in low transportation efficiency and increased management costs. GB/T 34393—2017 "Specifications for Export Logistics Labels for Complete Vehicles" came into being, aiming to unify the standards for automobile export logistics labels and improve logistics efficiency and management level.

II. Comparative Analysis of Standard Frameworks

Standard Dimensions GB/T 34393—2017 Internationally Accepted Standards Other Domestic Standards
Logo Contents Necessary information such as transport schedule, consignor, consignee, etc. Includes cargo tracking number and international logistics code Mainly based on VIN code, lacks systematicity
Logo Format Fill in both Chinese and English Uniform international coding standards Mostly adopt internal enterprise regulations
Technical Requirements Barcode printing complies with GB/T14258 International barcode standard Local specifications are not uniform

III. Interpretation of standard content

1. Label information requirements

GB/T 34393—2017 stipulates that the export logistics label of automobiles should contain the following necessary information:

  • Transportation shift/vehicle number (Voyage No.): The shift number that needs to distinguish different modes of transportation.
  • The name and contact information of the consignor, carrier, and consignee.
  • Reference No.: A unique number to ensure that the logistics process can be traced.
  • Serial Number: Indicates the total number and serial number of vehicles in the same bill of lading.
  • Destination information: Use ISO 3166 country code and indicate transshipment port.
  • Dimensions and weight: Measured in accordance with GB/T 3730.3, accurate to millimeters and kilograms.
  • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): Prepared in accordance with GB 16735 standard.
  • Barcode: Use printing technology that meets the requirements of GB/T14258.

2. Production and posting requirements

Note for logo production:

  • Font selection: Use bold font for Chinese and Arial font for Latin letters.
  • Font size: No less than size 4 to ensure clear readability.
  • Size requirements: Control between A4 (297mm×210mm) and B5 (148mm×105mm).

Note when posting:

  • The logo should be fixed in a position on the vehicle that is easy to read, such as the front windshield inside the vehicle or the external waterproof position.
  • Posting height: Within 1.0m to 1.7m from the lower edge of the vehicle.
  • Posting time: Completed before the export shipment of the whole vehicle.

IV. Implementation suggestions

1. Enterprise training: Organize relevant personnel to study the GB/T 34393—2017 standard to ensure correct understanding and implementation.

2. System docking: Integrate the existing logistics management system to ensure the accurate generation and transmission of identification information.

3. Label management: Establish standardized label templates, unify the production process, and avoid human errors.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly check the use of the logo, evaluate the implementation effect, and optimize the process based on the feedback.
