Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 3606-2025 "Household Biogas Stoves" is the latest national standard issued by the People's Republic of China, which aims to standardize the technical requirements, test methods, marking and packaging of household biogas stoves. This standard replaces the previous GB/T 3606-2001 version and puts forward higher requirements on product safety, performance and quality.

2. Background of Standard Formulation

With the widespread use of biogas as a renewable energy source in households, the safety and efficiency of household biogas stoves are becoming increasingly important. The revision of this standard aims to respond to new technological developments and market demands, ensure that products meet the requirements of modern home environments, and enhance user experience.

3. Major Technical Improvements

Old version requirements New version requirements
The technical requirements for embedded stoves are not specified. The definition and specific technical requirements for embedded stoves are added.
The combustion conditions only mention flame transfer and flashback. It is refined into multiple requirements including combustion noise, flameout noise, CO concentration, etc.
The pressure bearing performance of packaging is not involved. The technical requirements and test methods for the pressure bearing performance of packaging are added.

4. Interpretation of key technical requirements

4.1 Classification and model compilation of stoves

According to GB/T 3606-2025, household biogas stoves are divided into single-burner stoves, double-burner stoves, desktop stoves, and embedded stoves according to the number of burners and structural form. The model consists of product code, number of burners, structural form, ignition method and enterprise self-number, as follows:

  • Product code: HZZ
  • Number of burners: 1 (single burner), 2 (double-burner)
  • Structural form: T (desktop), Q (embedded)
  • Ignition method: D (electronic ignition), M (pulse ignition)

4.2 Airtightness requirements

Airtightness is an important indicator to ensure the safe operation of biogas stoves. The new standard clearly stipulates:

  • The gas leakage from the biogas inlet to the valve at a pressure of 4.2 kPa shall not exceed 0.07 L/h.
  • The gas leakage of the automatic control valve at a pressure of 4.2 kPa shall not exceed 0.55 L/h.
  • There shall be no leakage at the burner fire hole at 1.5 times the rated pressure.

4.3 Heat load and thermal efficiency

The heat load is a key parameter for measuring the performance of stoves. The new standard requires:

  • The measured thermal load deviation of a single burner shall be within ±10%.
  • The thermal efficiency of a tabletop stove shall not be less than 55%, and the thermal efficiency of an embedded stove shall not be less than 50%.

4.4 Combustion conditions and emission control

The combustion conditions directly affect the user experience and environmental impact. The new standard requires:

  • The flame transfer time shall not exceed 4 seconds, and there shall be no deflagration.
  • The CO concentration shall not exceed 0.05% for indoor type and 0.08% for outdoor type.
  • The combustion noise shall not exceed 65 dB(A), and the flameout noise shall not exceed 85 dB(A).

5. Experimental methods and test equipment

5.1 Test conditions

The laboratory conditions shall meet the following requirements:

  • The room temperature shall be controlled at 20°C ±5°C.
  • The relative humidity shall be less than 80%.
  • The atmospheric pressure range shall be 86 kPa to 106 kPa.

5.2 Test instruments and equipment

The instruments required for the test include thermometer, hygrometer, barometer, U-type pressure gauge, gas flow meter, etc. These equipment shall meet the accuracy requirements to ensure the accuracy of the test results.

5.3 Sample preparation and state adjustment

Before the test, the stove needs to be adjusted to the specified installation and use state, including adjusting the burner damper to the optimal position, and ensure that the distance from the wall and other obstructions is greater than 150 mm.

6. Implementation suggestions

6.1 Precautions in the design stage

  • Strictly design the stove structure in accordance with the standard requirements, especially the opening size of the built-in stove must comply with the provisions of Appendix B.
  • Select components that meet the temperature resistance requirements of the material to ensure the stability of key parts such as the burner and nozzle at high temperatures.

6.2 Quality control in the production process

  • Establish a complete testing process to ensure that indicators such as air tightness and thermal efficiency meet the standard requirements.
  • Strengthen the incoming inspection of raw materials and parts to avoid product quality problems caused by material defects.

6.3 After-sales service and user education

  • Provide detailed installation and use instructions, especially the hole size and ventilation requirements of the built-in stove.
  • Train after-sales service personnel to accurately diagnose and solve problems encountered by users during use.
